This TV drama version of "Ichi rittoru no namida" tells the story of 15-year-old Ikeuchi Aya, an ordinary girl and a new highschool student. But soon she discovers she has spinocerebellar degeneration, an incurable disease that affects the cerebellum of the brain. Based on a true story, Aya lived her life to the fullest until her death at 25. From seeing the strong earnest wish of Aya's wish "to live", the drama delivers the message: "Just being alive is such a lovely and wonderful thing."

This drama is based on a true story written from the diaries of a fifteen-year-old girl, Kito Aya. Aya is an ordinary girl, the daughter of a family who works at a tofu shop, and a local high school student. However, as Aya went through life that year, odd things began happening to her. She has been falling down, having a hard time performing simple tasks, and generally lacking in coordination. Her mother takes her to see a doctor for an examination. He informs Shioka that her daughter has a degenerative disease known as spinocerebellar atrophy, where the cerebellum of the brain gradually deteriorates. There will come a point where Aya will not even be able to move or speak becoming a full fledged vegetable! Aya's life to this point has treated her very fairly, being the star basketball player in her school and the class representative for her grade. So how will this cruel disease affect her life and how will she react when told about it? How will Aya live from now on?

Aya is an exceedingly optimistic girl who is the sunshine of many people's lives. She puts a smile on everyone's face as she walks by, just like a geisha can do! Aya shows compassion and bravery when living with her disease. Although, many people are supportive and tend to help, there comes a limit to how much assistance they are willing to offer. Aya was touched by the love and patience she received from her family and Haruto, her lover, who all stood beside her till the very end. The most amazing thing about Aya is that she managed to face her cruel fate with a positive outlook, and tried her best to do whatever she could by herself. Erika Sawajiri powerfully portrays Aya in the series. Her role in One Liter of tears is considered her breakthrough performance and has won her many fans and success.

The story contains both love and sadness, while teaching the power of perseverence. Aya kept writing in her diary to remember her experiences until she could no longer hold a pen. She simply wished to live until the end of her life, and the purpose of writing in the diary was to remind herself to not give up. So far, the diary of Aya has sold over 18 million copies. The series accurately depicts the pain and hardship she had to endure. I shed many tears watching this drama, and it has made me appreciate and love life. Aya's diary, "1 Liter of Tears" was published after her death, because of its inspiring and courageous message. "Just being alive is such a lovely and wonderful thing." How will her story affect you?

The series is rather short compared to other dramas. It is definitely worth watching and I would recommend it to anyone. The theme song, Konayuki, by the Japanese rock band Remioromen, fits well with the drama and the emotions that the characters go through. Overall, it's an incredibly emotional drama series that will definitely touch your heart.

Girls’ Generation is a very popular South Korean nine-member girl band formed by SM Entertainment in 2007. Its members include (in order of official announcement) Yoona, Tiffany, Yuri, Hyoyeon, Sooyoung, Seohyun, Taeyeon (the leader) , Jessica, and Sunny. International Girls’ Generation fans usually refer to the group as SNSD, the acronym of the group’s Korean name So Nyeo Shi Dae. They are famous for their sweet sounding songs and fast numbers which show-off their cheorographed dance moves.

Debut and first album

In July 2007, Girls’ Generation had their first performance on M.net M! Countdown. Although this performance was never broadcast on television, many videos were shot by fans and uploaded onto the internet. The song the girls performed was called “Into the New World” (Korean: 다시 만난 세계), which became their first single. A show documenting the girls’ debut titled “M.Net’s Girls Go To School” was filmed during this time.

In August 2007, the single “Into the New World” was released. This single included two other songs, “Beginning” and “Perfect for You” (Korean: 소원), later renamed as Honey for their self-titled debut album Girls’ Generation. An instrumental of “Into the New World” was also included.

The group began promoting the single soon after its release. Girls’ Generation performed their single on SBS’s Inkigayo (literally Popular Songs), MBC’s Show! Music Core, and on KBS’s Music Bank.

After a short break, the group’s first full album was released in late autumn 2007, with the lead single “Girls’ Generation” (Korean: 소녀시대), a cover of Lee Seung-Chul (Korean: 이승철)’s hit. Promotion for the single started in early November. Marked by dance routines and vocals, “Girls’ Generation” was a hit for the group, and the album has sold 121,143 copies to date, placing 12th in the year-end charts. [1] In early 2008, Girls’ Generation began promoting their second single, “Kissing You”. The music video featured Donghae from Super Junior. This song achieved the #1 spot in the three main TV music rankings—SBS Inkigayo, M.net M.Countdown! and KBS Music Bank.

In March 2008, the album was re-released and re-titled Baby Baby. A third single, “Baby Baby”, was used to promote the album. A digital EP featuring Jessica, Tiffany, and Seohyun was released on April 2008, titled Roommate. The single from the mini-album is “Oppa Nappa” (Korean: “오빠 나빠”, literally “Bad Brother”, although contextually it refers to an older male friend).

Girls’ Generation, along with fellow artists such as BoA, TVXQ, Super Junior, CSJH the Grace, Zhang Liyin, SHINee and other SM artists participated in SM Town Live ‘08. The tour expanded its route to South Korea, Thailand, and China.

What exactly is Owl City?
A city where happy owls live, work, breathe, ride bikes and fly kites. They pick flowers, sing in the shower, salsa dance, swim in pools, knit sweaters and read dreamy books with happy endings. They roller skate, watch romantic movies, drive clean cars to church, hold hands on the beach and run on treadmills after they eat a lot of pizza. They enjoy vanilla skies, swinging on swing sets, walking in the rain, pajama parties, wearing fuzzy sweatshirts in the winter and imagining what it would be like to breathe underwater. Owl City is an innocent place where life is pleasant and enjoyable. It's a place where pretty owl girl flight attendants smile at handsome boy owls at 30,000 feet. It's a place where little owls sometimes get lost in grocery stores but they always find their momma's again. =]

I freak out and spill whatever I'm drinking all over myself.

Are you a Christian?
Yes. Jesus Christ is my everything. I've given Him control of my life, asked Him to come into my heart to work in my life and change me into a new person, someone He wants me to be. I strive to honor Christ in everything I do, say, make and think. Nothing is more important to me than my relationship with Him.

What drew you to electronic music?
I was in a few different bands in high school and eventually got bored with the traditional guitar, bass, drums setup. I was always a huge fan of electronic music and it was a new medium to experiment with. I got a sequencing program and just started making songs.

So your dad never had a 4-track recorder or an analog synth laying around the house while you were a crabby baby in diapers?
I was definitely a crabby baby in diapers but neither of my parents were musical so I experimented with different instruments and genres until I felt at home. It's completely nerdy but I have to be honest and say I played video games growing up and the soundtracks to some of them have subtly influenced Owl City. Sigh. You're entitled to make fun of me now.

Scientific studies show that butterflies taste with their feet. How does this make you feel?
Jealous. If I were a butterfly, I'd wear ice cream shoes... or maybe cookie boots... I really need to think this over since it's such a big deal.

Have you ever gone through a near-death experience?
Yeah, one time Ashley Tisdale called me up and wanted to have a chat. I was so nervous I almost had a heart attack.

Your lyrics can be pretty abstract at times. Are they metaphorical or were they written with more of a "non-representational" approach?
Most of them are metaphors for things I've gone through or situations I've dealt with, although some songs were written with more of an abstract approach. I'm an admirer of non-representational visual art so some of that influence finds its way into my music. Being a normal guy involved in average everyday scenarios, I find it really interesting to write about typical, mundane things in somewhat "idealist" ways. I'm a daydreamer and a total optimist and I suppose that fuels the way I write more than anything.

How come a lot of your Owl City songs mention the ocean in them?
I have a fascination with the ocean and everything related to water. Sailboats, dolphins, piers, islands, sea towns, scuba diving, beaches, inlets, harbors; they all seem so enchanting to me.

Are you from Seattle?
No. I've never been there although it certainly looks wonderful and I'd love to visit. I'm a Minnesota boy.

What do you do when an endangered animal eats an endangered plant?
Smile.

Why do they lock gas station bathrooms? Are they afraid someone will clean them?
No, they're afraid George Michael will try to sneak in.

Should vegetarians eat animal crackers?
No, and neither should anyone else except grouchy babies.

Is there something you are looking forward to?
Putting on my Buzz Lightyear pajamas tonight and jumping on my bed to infinity and beyond!

No.

Do you really write and record all your music in your bedroom?
Yes. I'm the farthest thing from a pro but I have fun and that's far more important to me. I just like making songs. Writing music is like tasting the sky. It keeps me dreaming in color.

Do you use drum loops?
No. I make all my drum tracks from scratch and I sample quite a bit of sounds from field recordings I've made as well. Something about creating rhythm from natural sound is fascinating to me because it embodies such a unique mood. It puts a bit more "art" into the music in my opinion.

What should you be doing right now?
Sitting on a beach, holding hands with a girly.

Why isn't there "mouse-flavored" cat food?
Because people buy cat food, not cats.

Where do park rangers in Owl City go to "get away from it all?"
The beach, like the rest of us.

Are you ticklish?
For an owl, yes.

When the girl sitting next to me in 1st grade announced that we'd be married someday. I haven't seen her in 10 years so if you know where my future wife is, you should definitely let me know.

Why do kamikaze pilots wear helmets?
Because that's what their goggles are attached to and they need their goggles to fly.

Neither. Vanilla Coke.
